Family-Centered, Whole-Child

Every child, teen, and young adult brings a unique story, and I want to understand the whole picture. I look closely at emotions, behavior, school life, physical health, and family relationships so that care feels realistic and personal. Parents and caregivers are welcomed as partners, because support at home and school can shape progress. Together, I work with families to create plans that honor strengths, address concerns, and respect values, so each young person can feel safe, understood, and supported to Be seen. Be heard. Be truly you.

Pediatric and Psychiatric Expertise

As a dual-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I bring both medical and mental health training to every visit. My background in pediatric primary care, urgent care, neonatal care, and school-based community health allows me to connect symptoms with development and physical health. This helps me provide thoughtful psychiatric evaluations, careful medication management, and age-appropriate therapy approaches. I pay close attention to safety, side effects, and real-life routines, so each plan fits your child's stage of life and daily world.

Safe, Inclusive Care

Truly You Psychiatry is a Black-owned practice grounded in respect, cultural sensitivity, and trauma-informed care. I recognize that race, culture, community, and life experiences shape how children and families experience stress and seek support. My goal is to create a space where hard topics can be discussed openly and thoughtfully, including safety concerns, identity stress, and past hurts. I continue training in areas such as suicide prevention and counseling on access to lethal means, so that care feels careful, compassionate, and centered on emotional and physical safety for every family.

My Mission

My mission is to provide thoughtful, developmentally informed psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and young adults. I create a calm, respectful space where each person’s story is heard, families feel included, and treatment honors strengths and struggles. Every visit reflects my belief that young people deserve care that helps them feel seen, heard, supported, and free to be truly themselves.

My Vision

My vision is for children, teens, and young adults to receive timely, age-appropriate psychiatric support that feels safe, clear, and empowering. I want families to feel confident navigating evaluations, medications, and therapy options with clarity while young people build resilience, emotional regulation, and self-acceptance. The goal is care that supports lasting growth and confidence through every new season of life.

My Values

My values are rooted in compassion, curiosity, respect, and collaboration. I believe in clear communication, shared decision-making, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care. Every child and young adult is more than a diagnosis, so I consider school, home, health, identity, strengths, and challenges. My goal is for each visit to build trust, safety, understanding, and meaningful support for the whole family.
